Typhoon Update 3 – Super Typhoon Dolphin

We have received notice of more severe weather in North Asia, with Super Typhoon Dolphin potentially reaching land later this week.

As reported earlier, Typhoon Bavi caused delays to containership capacity in North Asia, with severe weather, temporary port restrictions and interruptions throughout July resulting in port closures, extended vessel waiting times and confirmed port omissions.

Super Typhoon Dolphin is now being closely monitored, and while its projected path and impact remains uncertain, any disruption to Shanghai, Ningbo and surrounding East China ports could compound existing congestion before current backlogs have been cleared.
While some ports like Shanghai have since resumed port operations after Typhoon Bavi, we are anticipating further delays as terminals continue to work through accumulated cargo.
We expect to see more delayed vessels, schedule changes, omissions and container availability issues as the typhoon progresses. Please note that this may cause delays to shipments. If you have any concerns relating to a shipment, please contact your customer service representative.
