Planned Industrial Action at Patrick Terminals

After the withdrawal of MUA’s Industrial Action at DP World Terminals around Australia, we have received further notice from FTA regarding MUA’s intention to take Protected Industrial Action against Patrick Terminals as a result of expired Enterprise Agreements. Below is the planned schedule for these actions:

Patrick terminals – Brisbane:

  • Ban on works at higher levels and any upgrades from 7 am, 4th September 2020 for an indefinite period of time.
  • Three periodic work stoppages of one hour each at 7 am, 3 pm and 11 pm every day, starting 4th September for an indefinite period of time.
  • Starting 7 am on 4th September 2020, there will be a ban related to working on vessels which were supposed to dock at other stevedore terminals but were subcontracted to Patrick Terminals. This will last for an indefinite period of time.

Patrick Terminals – Fremantle:

  • Ban on shift extensions and overtime from 7 am Friday, 4th September 2020 for an indefinite period of time.
  • Ban on working on Margaret River Bridge vessel for 24 hours starting 7 am, Friday 4th September 2020 and a general 24 hour work stoppage commencing at the same time.
  • Starting 7 am, 4th September 2020, there will be a ban related to working on vessels which were supposed to dock at other stevedore terminals but were subcontracted to Patrick Terminals. This will last for an indefinite period of time.

Patrick Terminals – Sydney:

  • Starting 6 am on Friday, 4th September 2020, ban related to working on Port Side Rail Project at Port Botany for an indefinite period of time.
  • Ban on works at higher levels and any upgrades from 6 am, 5th September 2020 of an indefinite period of time.
  • Work stoppage of four hours on 4th September 2020 starting at 12 pm.
  • Starting 6 am on 4th September 2020, there will be a ban related to working on vessels which were supposed to dock at other stevedore terminals but were subcontracted to Patrick Terminals. This will last for an indefinite period of time.

Patrick Terminals – Melbourne:

  • Work stoppage for eight hours starting at 7 am on 7th September 2020 and a ban related to working on Maersk Semakau vessel for the same period of eight hours.
  • Ban on works at higher levels and any upgrades (with some exceptions) from 7 am, 4th September 2020 of an indefinite period of time.
  • Ban on shift extensions from 7 am Friday, 4th September 2020 for an indefinite period of time.
  • Starting 7 am on 4th September 2020, there will be a ban related to working on vessels which were supposed to dock at other stevedore terminals but were subcontracted to Patrick Terminals. This will last for an indefinite period of time.
