MUA Industrial Action at Patrick Terminals
Attention: Shipping Manager
Further to our previous notices about Maritime Union of Australia’s (MUA) Industrial action at Patrick Terminals, we have been advised that the actions at Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle terminals will be further extended.
Patrick Terminals – Sydney:
- 1 hour of work stoppage at 5 am, 1 pm and 9 pm each day, starting from Friday 22nd October 2021 and finishing on Friday 05th November 2021
- A ban on working overtime and shift extensions starting from 10 pm Friday 22nd October 2021 and finishing at 10 pm Friday 05th November 2021
- A ban on working in higher levels and/or performing upgrades starting from 10 pm Friday 22nd October 2021 and finishing at 10 pm Saturday 23rd October 2021, starting from 10 pm Monday 25th October 2021 to 10 pm Saturday 30th October 2021, starting from 10 pm Monday 01st November 2021 through to 10 pm Thursday 04th November 2021
Current delays at the terminal are approximately 4.6 days and are forecasted to increase further with upcoming industrial action.
Patrick Terminals – Fremantle:
- Days on which an employee is rostered as ‘off/avail’, there will be a ban on attending work starting from 7 am Friday 22nd October 2021
- A ban on working in higher levels and/or performing upgrades starting from 7 am Saturday 23rd October 2021 and ending at 7 am Monday 25th October 2021, commencing from 7 am Saturday 30th October 2021 and finishing at 8 am Monday 01st November 2021
- 1 hour of work stoppage at 5 am, 1 pm and 9 pm each day, starting from Monday 25th October 2021 and finishing on Saturday 06th November 2021
The terminal operations continue to be impacted by industrial action with delays for vessels averaging 5.3 days.
Patrick Terminals – Brisbane:
24 hours of work stoppage starting at 11 pm Sunday 31st October 2021
- A ban on working overtime, shift extensions, working in higher levels and/or performing upgrades for 24 hours commencing at 11 pm Wednesday 27th October 2021
- Days on which an employee is rostered as ‘off/avail’, there will be a ban on attending work for 24 hours starting at 11 pm Wednesday 27th October 2021
- A ban on working overtime and shift extensions for 48 hours commencing at 11 pm Friday 29th October 2021
- Days on which an employee is rostered as ‘off/avail’, there will be a ban on attending work for 48 hours starting at 11 pm Friday 29th October 2021
Delays are expected to increase as a result of this latest round of industrial action.
Patrick Terminals – Melbourne:
The terminal is currently operating with a 5.5 days delay due to limited labour availability resulting from positive COVID-19 cases and close contact isolation requirements.
