LATEST UPDATE – Fuel prices increase globally

Attention: Shipping Manager

The current situation in Ukraine and Russia continues to impact the global supply chain negatively.

Fuel prices globally have spiked to a historic high amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict and are expected to continue to increase in the weeks ahead. Soaring fuel costs due to current instability in Europe have resulted in massive shipping fuel increases globally.

As a result, shipping lines will be passing along higher fuel costs and emergency fuel surcharges in addition to substantial BAF (Bunker Adjustment Factor) increases also having been announced. Furthermore, we are seeing surging fuel levies from trucking carriers. Some are charging this as increased cartage prices while others are charging a higher fuel surcharge or an emergency fuel surcharge.

These price levels are unprecedented and with the situation changing rapidly, the prices are fluctuating continually. Unfortunately, these increases are beyond our control and we have no option but to pass on these costs when received.
