Industry Update – March 2025
Attention: Shipping Manager
Brisbane Port Update
- Severe Weather Disruption – Tropical Cyclone Alfred
We have received notice from Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) that Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) has suspended inbound vessel arrivals to the Port of Brisbane due to heavy swells associated with Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
As a result of this weather event, Brisbane Ports have suspended all services until further notice. This suspension may result in vessel delays and scheduling adjustments.
At this stage, we anticipate operations to resume on Saturday if safe to do so.
Brisbane Airport is currently operating as normal, with the Operations Team closely monitoring weather conditions.
No decision has been made at this time to suspend or alter airport operations but this is likely to change as the storm progresses.
