US East Coast Strike Update – ILA & USMX Announce Tentative Agreement

We have received notice this morning from Freight & Trade Alliance (FTA) that the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) and United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have reached a tentative agreement for a new six-year Master Contract.
In a joint statement, both parties confirmed that a tentative agreement has been reached on all terms, while the current contract will remain in effect until the ILA’s Wage Scale Committee and USMX members complete the ratification process.
This agreement ensures no industrial action will occur on 15 January 2025, providing stability for East and Gulf coast port operations.
