Svitzer Australia Lockout New Update

Attention: Shipping Manager

We have received notice from the FTA (Freight & Trade Alliance) that the Fair Work Commission (FWC) has deferred the hearing to 1pm AEDT tomorrow (Thursday 17 November 2022) to determine whether or not to suspend or terminate the protected industrial action (including the lockout by Svitzer Australia of its tug crews nationally).

The FWC indicated that the intention is for a decision to be made before the commencement of the scheduled lockout at 12pm AEDT, Friday 18 November.

In the meantime, please note that all protected industrial action still remains in place.
This includes the lockout and ongoing industrial action that we have notified in previous updates.
