Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (A-UKFTA) Entry into Force 31 May 2023
Attention: Shipping Manager
The Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement (A-UKFTA) enters into force on 31st May 2023. This will remove tariffs on over 99% of Australian goods exported to the UK and over 98% of UK originating goods imported into Australia.
To claim preferential rates of customs duty under the A-UKFTA, the importer will either need a declaration of origin or a copy of one completed by the exporter or producer, or the importer’s knowledge that a good is originating when their goods are entered for home consumption.
Guidance on whether goods are UK originating goods for the purposes of the A-UKFTA and further information is available on the ABF’s website below:-
